FAQ

JET SKI RENTAL
(FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

  • HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RENT AND OPERATE A JET SKI?

To rent and operate a jet ski with our company, you must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and credit card.  You will be required to provide a Boater's Safety Card or Temporary Boater's Safety Certificate if you were born after January 1, 1988.  You could obtain a temporary boater's safety certificate here.

  • HOW MANY PASSENGERS CAN WE HAVE?

We allow one driver and one passenger per jet ski. We don’t allow three people on a jet ski unless it's a smaller child at least 5 years of age. Stability is affected when three adults are riding on a jet ski.

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN RIDING A JET SKI?

We recommend that you should wear a properly fitted wetsuit bottom or clothing that provides equivalent protection while riding or being around personal watercraft (e.g. jet skis, wave runners, etc.) in order to protect against injuries and/or death caused by water from the jet thrust nozzle being forced into body cavities.  It is your choice to not wear a wetsuit bottom, but we ask that you sign the disclaimer within the rental agreement.  Please do not wear any brand new articles of clothing that has never been washed as they will stain the seats.  We have life jackets available for you to use for free or you could bring your own.

  • DO PASSENGERS OR FUEL COST EXTRA?

No, our rental price is all-inclusive, with no hidden fees for fuel or extra passengers.

  • IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT?

Yes, there is a combined weight limit of 450lbs per jet ski. We reserve the right to make judgment calls based on passenger weight. This is for your safety and overall enjoyment.

Putting two larger adult customers on the jet ski together increases the chance of capsizing the jet ski. Capsizing the ski causes the rider to fall off and can also sink and/or damage the vessel which is ultimately the renter’s responsibility. Safety is our #1 priority!

  • HOW LARGE IS YOUR RIDING AREA?

We primarily operate on Lake Minneola, which is part of the Clermont Chain of Lakes.  The riding area is very large.  Lake Minneola is approximately 1,906 acres, which is plenty of room to ride. You must stay away from the shoreline and other watercrafts when not at idle speed.  We always have a “guide” on the water with our renters to assist with boundaries and departing/returning to the dock area. The “guides” are there to ensure safety and enhance the customer experience.

  • CAN WE SHARE A JET SKI WITH OTHERS IN OUR GROUP/FAMILY?

Yes! You could come back to shore to allow a driver and/or passenger swap, but just keep in mind that your time is not extended.  It takes time to come back to shore at no-wake speed, get fitted for life vests, and go back out.  Your guide must be aware of the change.

  • WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR A PASSENGER?

Passengers must be at least 5 years old.

  • WHAT IF WE DAMAGE THE JET SKI?

If a renter damages a jet ski, they are fully responsible (just like a rental car). We go over all the rules and necessary operating/safety procedures before you head out. Have fun, but just be careful out there as these machines are fast!

  • DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT WHEN BOOKING?

Yes, we will collect a $50 reservation deposit per jet ski upon booking.  The remaining balance will be due upon arrival.

  • DO YOU STILL RENT JET SKIS WHEN THE WATER IS CHOPPY?

Yes...we still rent jet skis, but we don’t recommend taking out younger kids as passengers when it is rough. As driver/operator, you’ll have a great time…it will just be a bit wet.

  • WHAT IS YOUR POLICY FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER?

Most of the weather forecasts for Florida are usually inaccurate in terms of precipitation. Many times it will be raining in one area, but it will be sunny at the lake although the forecast says it will rain.  Often they will forecast a 50% chance of rain and it turns out to be a very sunny day with no rain.

OUR RECOMMENDATION: Make the reservations for when you would like to go and in the event of inclement weather we will contact you to re-schedule for later that day or another day. We will constantly monitor the weather to ensure a safe and memorable trip! If weather becomes an issue during your rental, we will be more than happy to issue a rain check or a pro-rated refund for the time left on your rental.

  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Refunds will be issued for reservations canceled at least 24 hours in advance. No refunds will be issued for no shows and/or cancellations made within 24 hours of reservation.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I ARRIVE LATE?

You should plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your reservation to be able to park and meet us.  Your pre-ride safety/operation training which lasts approximately 15 minutes.  There will be a late charge of $25 added to your rate if you are 30 minutes late.  We may not be able to extend the time for your rental as there are other renters that will be expecting to start on time the following hour.  Please understand that no refunds could be given as we could not book the jet ski to another customer during your time.

  • WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

Please park at the parking lot in front of the beach area at Waterfront Park.  Parking is free there and is only a short walk to the designated location next to the boat ramp where you will pick up your jet ski.  Parking at the boat ramp

is exclusively for vehicles with trailers.  Click below for parking and meeting locations.
